We midwife families through our combined expertise and the belief in our bodies, knowing first hand the intensity and magic of birthing.
We know most birthing people feel able to birth at home when they are supported, educated, seen, and trusted. We strongly believe we are empowered with this kind of midwifery care. This is the real reason we wake up in the middle of the night. Nurturing growing families to make informed choices during this vital time in their lives can change communities. And we are here to help with this transformation. We love sweet newborns but are midwives, through and through, to support families, lending our many years of experience and skilled knowledge, for a safe and empowered birth.
We are also believers. We fiercely believe in choice—informed choice for all families to decide their own healthcare and place of birth.

I started attending births in 2007, graduating from Birthingway College of Midwifery with a Bachelor’s of Science in 2010. After working at a busy birth center for many years, I opened Portland Natural Birth to provide a small home birth practice that focused on individualized and relationship-based care for all our families.
I have believed in midwifery and the truest nature of birth for as long as I can remember. I was born at the Baltimore Birth Center and was told by my mother that birth is normal. Decades later, I still believe birth is normal and our bodies are strong. My own homebirths have further solidified this deep trust and knowledge.
When I’m not witnessing strong families giving birth, you’ll find me hanging out with my two strong and active kiddos. Of course, when I’m not on call you’ll find me deep in the woods hiking or backpacking. I feel strong and grounded when I’m surrounded by trees and the mountains. My husband and I also enjoy playing in our garden and kayaking when we can. Sometimes I even find time to hone in on my sewing and quilting skills. The rest of the time, I’m most likely talking, meeting, educating, or sitting in quiet reverence of birthing people!
I have been attending births since 2015 as a student at Birthingway College of Midwifery. Before beginning my midwifery education, I studied Ayurvedic medicine at the California College of Ayurveda, and graduated in 2008. I have studied extensively with Ayurvedic doctors and healers throughout Southeast Asia, focusing on herbalism and women’s health. I love to bring what I have learned to the families I support at Portland Natural Birth. Holistic health and birth work has been my passion since I was very young and I feel overjoyed to be able to support pregnant people and families through both Midwifery and Ayurveda. In my free time, I also love to weave, spin yarn, garden, hike, and cook with my family and friends.
