Holistic Pelvic Care with Kelley Burke
Pelvic Rehabilitation and Alignment for Women
Such profound change occurs in a woman’s body during pregnancy and birth. Although a woman’s body also has a profound ability to heal, women in our culture often do not get the information and care they need to make a holistic recovery and go on feeling broken, incomplete, and dysfunctional after such a huge life process. Although birth is often to blame for a number of female pelvic concerns, 80% of women in western culture experience issues of incontinence, prolapse, pelvic fatigue, heaviness and pain.
I had my daughter in late July and the following February, slipped and broke my tailbone. The Doctors that I saw prescribed pain meds, but said there wasn’t much else that could be done. I had pretty much given up hope and thought that chronic back pain was just going to be a way of life for the foreseeable future, if not indefinitely. I started seeing a chiropractor and we began to make progress. She then recommended I see Kelley for a pelvic flor adjustment. I was skeptical, but would try anything at this point. Kelley transformed my life. In just two sessios, my tailbone pain subsided and I felt hope! I still see Kelley for refular massages and con’t recommend her enough. She’s an amazing listener and incredibly intuitive- she always seems to find tension(and release it), even when I didn’t know it was there. It’s become a form of therapy for me!” ~2017 client
Even if you haven’t had a baby or ever been pregnant, Holistic Pelvic Care can help – a lot.
What should I expect?
During your first pelvic care session, expect to be in the office for 90 minutes. Follow up sessions are usually 60 minutes. We will begin by reviewing your health history, current symptoms, lifestyle and emotional well being. Next is the hands on portion of the session. This may include intra-vaginal work as well as low back, glutes, legs and abdominal massage. We end the session by going over recommendations for body mechanics, self care tools and therapeutic exercises to incorporate into your life at home. I strive to empower. To keep things simple, doable and not overwhelming. I believe change comes only when you are able to truly incorporate it in on a daily basis.
